Bison Auction Set for Oct. 19

Th 2017 Bison Auction will take place Oct. 19 at the Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge corrals. The refuge corrals are located immediately north of the Refuge Headquarters, 12 miles northwest of Cache, Okla. off Highway 49. 

The number of animals to be auctioned varies from year to year, but generally consists of cows or bulls which are no longer needed for reproduction within the herd and excess calves of the year.

The auction will began at noon Oct. 19. Starting at 11 a.m. prior to the auction, the Lawton Fort Sill Convention and Visitors Bureau and its Ag Committee will serve lunch to the participants. The lunch is provided by the Great Plains Coliseum and includes a hamburger, chips, potato salad baked beans and a drink for $5.

 Buyers and visitors alike are welcome to attend the auction and enjoy Southwest Oklahoma and the refuge hospitality.
