Annual Celebration to Feature Community Concert
One June 29, the Lawton Fort Sill Chamber of Commerce will not only host its Annual Celebration, but also a community concert featuring Yellow Rose Dinner Theatre performing "Motown Magic."
Motown Magic is a show inspired by the Motown sound that became popular in the 1960s. Motown is the combination of soul music with a distinct pop influence that inspired Barry Gordy to found Motown records in Detroit, Michigan on April 14, 1960.
For the past eight years, audiences at the Yellow Rose theater have been raving about how James Morris, D. Hill, Darryl Moss and Dario Moss have brought back to life groups such as the The Temptations and the Four Tops and the Spinners. They even pay honor to the likes of Smokey Robinson, Stevie Wonder and Marvin Gaye. Tasha Sanders blows crowds away with her powerful vocals that includes songs like "Please Mr. Postman" and "My Guy." You do not want to miss the special show inspired by a special brand of music.
The community concert will begin at 8:30 p.m. June 29 at the Apache Casino Hotel after the Lawton Fort Sill Chamber of Commerce's Annual Celebration. Ticket information for the Annual Celebration and community concert will be available soon.
