The Lawton High School Key Club will be hosting the 2nd Annual Stride 4 Shelter: 5K 4 R Kids on March 25, 2017! All funds raised for this exciting Bubble Run will be donated to Lawton Public School's McKinney-Vento Program, which serves more than 750 students from pre-kindergarten through 12th grade who have been identified as living in a homeless situation. The McKinney-Vento Education of Homeless Children and Youth Assistance Act is a federal law that ensures immediate enrollment and educational stability for homeless children and youth. The McKinney-Vento Act defines homeless children as "individuals who lack a fixed, regular, and adequate nighttime residence."

primary goal for the 5K Bubble Run is first and foremost to raise awareness
about the homeless student situation in our community while providing
knowledge about services available for anyone in a homeless situation and
supporting those students in need. We want to show Lawton's homeless students that their peers, teachers, and community care them. They are not forgotten, they are seen, they matter, and WE support them!

Saturday March 25th, 2017 at 10:00 am the Stride 4 Shelter Bubble Run will
begin and end on the Lawton High School Track, located behind Lawton High
