Lawton is proud to have the trademarked name, Oklahoma’s STEM City. Our public school system has excelled in the nation-wide NMSI program which focuses on Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. Great Plains Technology Center and Cameron University have also embraced the STEM program, allowing your children an outstanding education in fields in great demand.
Lawton Public Schools is a multicultural district serving Lawton, Oklahoma’s fifth largest city. Approximately 15,000 students are enrolled in 17 neighborhood elementary schools, four middle schools, one alternative high school and three high schools. LPS operates two pre-kindergarten programs and collaborates with Fort Sill, Head Start and private entities to offer services to four-year-olds throughout the community.
Cameron University Founded in 1908, Cameron University is a thriving educational institution of more than 6,000 students with its main campus in Lawton.
